There were more of USERN programs in the World PID week. World PI Week (April 22nd-29th) is a global campaign which aims to raise awareness and improve diagnosis and treatment of primary immunodeficiencies (PI)….

On the second day of World Week for increasing knowledge on Primary Immunodeficiencies (PID), USERN and ICID held a joint school in the children’s medical centre. USERN President Nima Rezaei himself being a top scientists in the field was one of the main speakers, with Giovanni Romeo from European school of genetics in medicine and Anne Puel being other Keynote lecturers. Zahra Aryan and Jonathan Spoor were junior lecturers who focused on real cases with different types of neutropenia from the ICID lab. Concluding lecture of the morning PID school was Rezaei’s fascinating lecture and Q-A contest on real cases with severe neutropenia. USERN:ESGM collaboration was later actualized by Rezaei and Romeo signatures under the 29st USERN Foreign MoU.

Last was the long intensive workshop on: From Genetics to Medical Genomics, Introduction on Next Genome Sequencing. The opening and final lectures were virtual presentations by Dr. Tommaso Pipucci from Medical Genetics Unit - Polyclinic Sant’Orsola-Malpighi, University of Bologna, Italy and by USERN board member Professor Francesco Cucca. Dr Romeo and Puel were the other lectures along with Samaneh Zoghi a PhD student and grantee of fellowship to take part in the GWAS School in Sardinia.

Certificates to the attendee to this 3rd USERN workshop were signed and authorized by USERN president and ESGM president.
