USERN Advisory board names dazzle among laureates of the prestigious medical awards Rhazes and Avicenna. This is what USERN is dreaming to become; a monumental scientific network in all areas of science, Says Rezaei, himself being among the most glorious scientists to both awards.
''Rhazi'' or Rhazes is the name of ancient Iranian Polymath, physician, and chemist, of the 9th century, universally known for his discovery of alcohol, major contributions to modern organic chemistry and of course his book in paediatrics, his philosophical hypothesis and indeed his reputation as an all-out scientist. Avicenna more publically known as a physician and his famous Canon, merits to be recognized further by his proposal of experimental medicine, his vast knowledge in philosophy, geography, astronomy and mathematics, and his 150 publications in areas other than medicine.
"Rhazes" and "Avicenna" are the names of two awards in medical research and education, bestowed annually by Tehran University of medical sciences and Iranian ministry of health to book, scholars and scientific centres in basic and clinical medicine, dentistry, pharmacology etc.
January 16th and in the closing ceremony of the 22nd Rhazi award, one could hear more than many occasions, name of USERN affiliated centres, USERN advisory board members and USERN products, called upon to receive their prize, from the minister himself. Dr. Zarrin Dast, USERN advisory board in pharmacology was named the best researcher in basic medicine, along with the Research Center for Immunodeficiencies and research center of non-communicable disorders as top research centers with activity of more than three and less than 3 years, respectively. With his accolade of the 10th, 16th and 17th Avicenna Award as distinguished researcher and for his ‘’ Primary Immunodeficiency’’ as the book of the year, Nima Rezaei finally hit the top, by his recognition as the top basic science researcher in the 18th Avicenna festival, with Dr Farzad Far another USERN board member, receiving the same honour in clinical research. It is worth mentioning that Rezaei had been recognized as the distinguished young researcher to the Rhazi Award in Medical Science Research on 2006 and 2012.
The idea of science without borders, spills over time, and among all depictions of science. The Universal Scientific Education and Research Network Prize, follows the same scheme of contingency of science and the doctrine of science without borders:
