Date in Sunday, December 31st, 2017 and the venue is the familiar Ibn-e-Sina Hall of TUMS faculty of Medicine, but you can trust that you won’t be hearing ordinary, before-said tributes, from our special guests at the second USERN Anniversary this year. Let’s see! Here we have a journalist and literary critic, TV producer and presenter, a contemporary Iranian novelist, an actress and screen writer, and a psychiatrist!
USERN Miniature Talks are the new names for this mini-series of art-literature-science talks and we are beginning to get used to the name. There will be Ehsan Rezaei, a medical graduate and currently columnist at "Hamshari Javan" and "Hamshari Dastan". The Joy of Fairy Tales, is the title he has suggested for the 1st USERN miniature talk, a complexion that gives a nostalgic vibe even from the title. Rezaei, made the hit by taking the reputation as the most-read columnist in book-reviews by the national library institution.
Siavash Safarianpour, who is publicly known for his role as the host of the popular "Asemaneshab" scientific late-night show, is also co-producing and mind-setting the show, which translates to "Night Sky", and will be there too. A new season of the show has been aired since September, with the theme "Science Pioneers". The "Charkh" television talk show, initiated and formerly produced by Safarianpours, is another bright spot in Siavash’s transcript. Charkh is a weekly evening-journal, representing the broadened border of science in different fields, as if each are "wheels" twirling together for the big clock to work! Safarianpour and his twin brother Foad, are widely known among Iranian’s as the Astronomy passionate brothers.
Shghayegh Dehgan, who is known for her role in the famous "Pavarchin" sitcom, and later in the "Marde Hezar Chehreh" and "Sakhteman Pezeshkan" miniseries, is known for her hilarious and playful character, and strong scripts for children’s TV shows and later sitcoms. Dehghan who has been preoccupied with screenwriting in recent years, will be the third miniature talk speaker and the second artist on the stage, after Mohammadreza Alimardani, the creator of Dirin-Dirin animated commercials.
Author of "Ermia", Man-e-oo (His Ego), Reza Amir-Khani has accepted USERNs invitation with an exotic title for his 12-minute miniature talk: "Manzoohat-e-Beer". Amirkhani who has studied mechanical engineering at Sharif University of Technology, strated his writing career in 1995, selling out his first Novel, Ermia, a conglomerate of his high-school scripts and hand writings. This turned into winning the Defae-Moghaddas 20-year festival and a number of other acclaims. "Nafahat -e- naft", an essey about oil management, and "Gheydar" are title to other works from this graduate of National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents.
Professor Azarakh Mokri, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Tehran University of Medical Science, who has frequently glued the audience to their seat at Ibn-e-Sina Hall of the TUMS Pour-Sina Campus is the last to be introduced, but least meriting an introduction. Mokri, who is currently working in Iran, has international experience that includes various programs in psychology of "Addiction and Addictive behaviors", first abroad and now as a member of the Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies (INCAS). He’ll bring "The Truth about Mental Health" for the USENR miniature talks.
USERN Specialized Panel, will be the last item of the program with the participants, yet to be announced. Some of the big stock-holders of IT-industry in Tehran will probably attend the event. USERN 2nd Anniversary would finalize with appraisal and introduction of USERN’s most active interest groups, advisory board members and top journal publications in 2017.
