Our shared efforts in the USERN Prize 2016, led to the monumental figure: more than 570 prize candidates, either applicants or nominees, in five areas. Each year on December 31st and Jan 1st the USERN official declaration of existence and the opening of USERN prize, run off in tandem, for the great job of USERN scientific deputy to get started. By, April 2016, less than a hundred applicants had already filled out the online form and it could hardly be expected that only a few months later this number would get more than tripled by the few essential best moves of the scientific affairs.
USERN had the support of more than 30 academic and educational centres, though not essentially financial support, worldwide. Indeed the single biggest benefit that could be envisioned for the partnership was to have at least 20 to thirty, qualified applicants in each area of Biological, Medical, Physical, Social, and Formal USERN Prize. A momentum was built upon, then a hundred and fifty advisory board members and academic centres to nominate applicants for the USERN prize! Within a month and during the usual sabbatical season of most educational centers the number of USERN candidate grew to five hundred.
They were a bit off schedule on the prize calendar to start the round of voting and proper selection of the USERN laureates. The local prize council had to enter, and elect 47 shortlisted young scientists, for the urgent task of voting by the international jury.
" We had to accept and expect low participation rate from our advisors and Nobel laureates, and not infrequently we encountered responses of the irrelevance of the prize projects or the candidates major, or worse, autoreplies from board members on weekend " Recalls Sara Hanaei, now deputy in charge of scientific affairs. Again they prioritized the candidates based on their age, scientific measures, and offcourse the rating from the international jury to come to the final nominee in all but one field; physics.
The second round of voting took less than 2 weeks to complete and now, and just in time, USERN Prize 2016 had all of the USERN Men, by the end of September 2016. All the moments and every effort came to the night of USERN festival, in the Tehran Azadi tower. Each moment a testament, to the value of in international collaboration and advancing the groundworks to involve the world top scientists as leaders of the scientific world.
In this year the prize, many significant shifts should be expected, with the new form for application, updated and online by Jan 1st and the new voting system for the referee rating." With the help from our publicity group we imagine an even more exciting prize application, with more applicants from our supporters outside Iran, Kharkov as the host to the 2017 festival and parties to the MOU and external ties of USERN", Hanaei said.
It is worth mentioning that this Saturday on the 1st USERN Anniversary, Six USERN offices with be inaugurated in Six academic centres in Iran, Rasht, Amol, Kerman, Ahvaz, Tabriz and Tehran! All the good news are on the way for the 1st USERN anniversary on Saturday December 31st!
