Prideful about 40th iTalk, USERN Looks Forward to Joint Workshop with NIMAD

USERN President will be teaching his "book publishing skills", from A to Z, next Sunday in the third workshop on "Publishing Books with International Publishers", the first, as a joint event conducted by USERN and National institute for medical research development (NIMAD).

USERN iTalk number just reached the prideful number of #40, on February 17th, not long after USERN stepped in third year of activity. Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Banoei, researcher at University of Calgary, Alberta, and winner of NIGEB prize for teaching biosafety and laboratory practice, presented "Metabolomics Profiling and Cancer", at Cancer Institute of Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex. Metabolomics is a term sometimes used to describe the emerging science of measurement and analysis of metabolites, such as sugars and fats, in the cells of organisms at specific times and under specific conditions.

Metabolomics as a discipline makes use of analytical processes such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and multivariable analysis. Metabolomics allows scientists to measure physiological effects and to monitor for adverse reactions to drugs. Metabolomics is of interest to physicians because it may lead to improvements in the diagnosis and treatments of human diseases.  Metabolomics research is a growing diagnostic tool for cancer introducing new biomarkers to the clinic. The application of metabolomics towards cancer research has led to a better understand of the heterogeneous nature of cancers and discovery of pathways to be used as new targets to combat cancer and monitor metabolic biomarkers during therapeutic intervention.

Upcoming Event: USERN President will be teaching his "book publishing skills" in the third workshop on "Publishing Books with International Publishers", and the first, as a joint event conducted by USERN and National institute for medical research development (NIMAD).
