Vice Rector of Ukraine Oldest University and Director of Paediatric Genetics lab from France Visited USERN Head Quarter with Two new Agreements Signed
Tuesday Morning the "morning report" at the children’s medical center at Tehran, host to two of the USERN offices, was peppered with Jean Laurent Casanova lecture on the two cases with HIGM and SCID syndromes and his life-long carrier as a paediatrician and top researcher in clinical immunology and genetics. A USERN advisory board member, Professor Casanova, is a lead researcher in in-born errors of immune system that predispose to certain infections in childhood. His passion in paediatrics, genetics and immunology, and research in his human genetics lab in Rockefeller univeristy and Necker hospital in France, made him first to introduce mutations in interferon genes, multitude of signalling molecules and also non-immune related genes, that violate the paradigm of agent: infection causality of infections.
USERN President, Professor Casanova and Zarif Nazyrov from National Kharkov University of Karazin, came up with two memorandums of agreement, later in a joint meeting at the USERN headquarter. Nazyrov asserted his affiliated academia interest to take part and support the USERN congress initiative and the Congress 2017.
A lunch at a nearby restaurant followed Rezaei and Casanova’s visit to TUMS genetics and immunology departments. Rezaei and Casanova were joined by Andreas Lozano world pioneer in brain Stereotactic surgery and DBS treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, also a top 1% scientist and USERN board member. This was brought by Lozano recognition of World lead scientist by Al Khawrazmi Prize, a general scientific prize, named after Iranian ancient Hakim, mathematician, engineer, Mohammad Khawrazmi. Rezaei, expressed hope that he’d meet Casanova and Lozano next November in USERN festival, Ukraine.
