Indexing of educational activities is of great importance for supervisors and employers who seek for skilled fellows and employees. Despite a scholar’s research outputs that is readily accessible through online databases, one’s extra-curricular educational and executive activities are not usually indexed on online databases with public access. Individuals' attendance in extra-curricular educational programs qualify them in different fields other than their field of specialty. In addition, experiencing executive roles in different activities improves communication, management, and cooperative skills of students and prepares them for future occupations. Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN) as one of the central organizations which has been established to promote science without borders, have organized over 500 educational and inspirational scientific events over the first 5 years of activity. In the 6th year, USERN aimed at launching the Universal Accreditation System (UAS) to quantify educational activates and professional development, which have not been indexed on online databases. This system includes accreditation of activities for different categories including participation in different educational programs, and performing executive roles. In addition, aiming to facilitate the mentor-mentee relationship, UAS suggests credits for research mentors as well. In line with this, since the UAS credit granted to a student is indicative of an educational or research achievement, an amount of UAS credit would be granted to the mentor as well.
UAS credits appear on the profile of USERN members. To have your UAS credits recorded on USERN website and to have online evidence of your participation in educational programs, register on the USERN website, at https://usern.tums.ac.ir/Account/Register.
