2nd day of the 7th USERN Congress has finished!
November 9th marks the second day of the 7th international USERN congress, hosted by Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman. In continuation with our annual tradition, today started with a virtual talk by a Nobel laureate, Prof. Leland H. Hartwell.
Today’s senior talk, hosted by Prof. Andrea Cossarizza, Dr. Siham Al Sinani, and Dr. Joseph Firth, consisted of five talks (10 minutes each) as follows:
The session continued with a 90-minute special panel regarding the opportunities and challenges of using artificial intelligence in society by Prof. Tommaso Dorigo and his colleagues, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
The lunch break was accompanied by the presentation of posters by international researchers attending the congress in person. After the break, the junior talk panel, chaired by Prof. Andrea Cossarizza, Dr. Sara De Biasi, and Dr. Yahya Al Farsi welcomed eight young researchers with each speaker presenting a six-minutes talk on the topic of cancer.
The subsequent junior talk, chaired by Dr. Abdullah Balkhair, Prof. Nima Rezaei, and Dr. Jianing Fu, continued with seven presentations (6 minutes each) about infections, especially, COVID-19. The next four hours hosted nine virtual talks centered on Physical and Chemical Sciences.
