Grant Writing Workshop for Faculty Members at Isfahan USERN Office

USERN Workshop on grant writing held in USERN Isfahan Office. Faculty members of IUMS had a unique experience of live-writing a fictional proposal for either of the NIMAAD or NIH with help from Professor Ali Mirzazadeh.

Grant-writing workshop was the title of first independent USERN workshop at Isfahan Office. Shahid Chamran Hall of the Modern Technologies Faculty at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences hosted this two-day workshop for about 16 hours during September 11-12th. Groups of five from faculty members of IUMS had a unique experience of live-writing a fictional proposal for either of the two internal and international granting bodies: NIMAD (National Institute for Medical Research Development) and NIH (National Institutes of Health). 

This interactive workshop was a combination of lectures and sessions of group discussion and group work, and an opportunity for IUMS members to work in a reality basis and get feedback from Professor Ali Mirzazadeh, assistant professor infectious disease epidemiologist, at department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Mirzazadeh secondly affiliated as senior research specialist of HIV/STI surveillance research center, and WHO Collaborating Center for HIV Surveillance, at Kerman University of Medical Sciences, Kerman, Iran, has authored several peer-review journal articles and awarded many scholarships and grants from CDC, NIH, WHO, UNAIDS, UNICEF, UCSF and others.

USERN side event was a small product shop for identification of USERN and its activities and USERN congress to Isfahan faculty members, and introduce USERN potentials.

This huge research and education network continues to establish new offices world-wide, to dialogue, and commit to operate on science, and on every scientific motion that brings us courage to move further and move forwards. Thanks to the brilliant office directors worldwide and to the supporting hosting academia and institutions, USERN is now home to 29 offices in 17 cities and 9 countries worldwide. USERN Isfahan Office was the 28th of its type established with direct collaboration of international deputy of IUMS, Professor Mir-Mohammadbagheri and Dr Raheleh Kafieh, office director and Mr Alireza Samimiat deputy of student’s division of USERN office. 

USERN Offices are symbols of identification for a persistent and mutually beneficial collaboration. USERN offices grow, as USERN grows. We continue to establish new offices world-wide, to dialogue, and commit to operate on science, and on every scientific motion that brings us courage to move further and move forwards. 

Thanks to the brilliant office directors worldwide and to the supporting hosting academia and institutions USERN is now. This is while USERN SRD session has decided the fate of the USERN schools to be held outside USERN headquarter by USERN offices and interest groups. USERN office directors are encouraged to submit proposal for their future events in 2018.
