The 8th International USERN Congress and Prize Awarding Festival Day 3
As the world celebrates the UN Day of Science for Peace and Development on November 10th, the 8th international USERN congress approaches its final stages. The event began with a talk theater that showcased a great combination of art and science, performed by miniature talk finalists. Now it’s time for the 8th USERN Prize Awarding Festival, our annual prize to appreciate and promote young scientists who are broadening the frontiers of science and making a difference in their respective fields. Out of approximately 90000 candidates who were the first author in papers published in Q1 journals during the previous year, 150 articles were chosen to proceed to the next round by the USERN Prize committee. The 2023 USERN Prize winners in each field are as follows:
- The 2023 USERN Prize laureate in Formal Science: Naveed Akhtar from Australia due to his research on “Enabling transparent and trustworthy Artificial Intelligence”
- The 2023 USERN Prize laureate in Physical Science: Hailiang Wang from USA due to his research on “Advancing Molecular Electrocatalysis for Renewable Energy Storage and Environmental Remediation”
- The 2023 USERN Prize laureate in biological Science: Prashant Kesharwani from India due to his research on “Survivin targeted siRNA using cancer selective nanoparticles for triple negative breast cancer therapy”
- The 2023 USERN Prize laureate in Medical Science: Hao chen from China due to her research on “A tunable microgel with sustained hierarchy releasing of macrobiotics for the treatment of enteritis”
- The 2023 USERN Prize laureate in Social Science: Katrien Fransen from Belgium due to her research on “From autocracy to empowerment: Harnessing the human potential for improved team effectiveness and enhanced well-being across cultures.”
The laureates then, were invited to deliver keynote speeches. The in-person part of congress came to an end with a closing ceremony and a concert. Best oral and poster presentations also appreciated in the following and the host of 9th International USERN Congress was announced to be Medical University of Plovdiv, Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
