Event
USERN-DARC Symposium on Allergology and Immunology was held on June 3rd, 2024, in Vienna, Austria.
After different successful educational events, such as workshops, schools, symposiums, etc. organized by the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN), a new collaborative event took place with Danube Allergy Research Cluster (DARC), in Vienna, Austria.
DARC- Danube Allergy Research Cluster in lower Austria is a new center dedicated to allergy research, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of allergic conditions. It is led by Professor Rudolf Valenta, who is one of the USERN Advisory Board members. The Danube Allergy Research Cluster includes Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences, Medical University of Vienna, University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (Department of Agrobiotechnology Tulln), Vienna University of Veterinary Medicine, Austrian Institute of Technology (Tulln site), and the University hospitals of St. Pölten and Krems.
USERN shares similar aims and mottos with DARC, and their collaboration significantly enhances the chances of advancement in the field of allergology and immunology.
The USERN-DARC Symposium on Allergology and Immunology featured well-known scientists as its main chairs; Prof. Rudolf Valenta, Prof. Susanne Vrtala, Prof. Birgit Linhart, Prof. Winfried Pickl, and Prof. Nima Rezaei.
The symposium was a one-day event taking place on Monday, June 3rd, 2024. Students and junior researchers had the chance to present their research in the form of short oral and poster presentations and receive comments from the experts in this field. A brief city tour, besides the academics, was given to the participants later on that day. One participant shared their experience stating "Even though this school was a one-day event held in Vienna, it was one of the best experiences I have ever had!". Another participant shared, "Regardless of the short time I've spent in Vienna, the city stole my heart”. The participants all agreed that only in one day, they had scientific activities, cultural and historical visits, and the chance to get to know international peers!
The positive feedback from the participants demonstrated the success of this event not only academically but also in a memorable way. By and large, this significantly successful collaboration between USERN and DARC holds great promise for future advancements in allergology and immunology, benefiting many researchers and practitioners.
