USERN Spring School on Translational Autoimmunity: From Bench to Bedside, From AI to Clinic was held on June 20-21, 2025 in Monastir, Tunisia
Over the past ten years, USERN has organized many successful educational events, and its international schools have always been among the most popular. This year, USERN held the Spring School on Translational Autoimmunity: From Bench to Bedside, From AI to Clinic on June 20-21, 2025, in Monastir, Tunisia. The event was held both in-person and online, bringing together students, researchers, and experts from around the world.
The school was coordinated by Prof. Melek Kechida, Prof. Mahbouba Jguirim, Prof. Farah Thabet, Prof. Syrine Daadaa, Prof. Tommaso Dorigo (current president of USERN), and Prof. Nima Rezaei (founder of USERN).
The school focused on new approaches in autoimmunity, connecting basic research in the lab with clinical practice. A special part of the event was dedicated to the role of artificial intelligence in improving diagnosis and treatment in autoimmune diseases.
Participants attended engaging lectures by international experts and took part in interactive workshops. A major focus of the school was supporting students and early-career researchers, who presented their work through oral talks, both in-person and online, and poster sessions. These opportunities helped young scientists receive valuable feedback, develop their communication skills, and build connections with researchers from various disciplines.
The USERN Spring School 2025 in Tunisia was not only an academic gathering: it was a celebration of collaboration, learning, and innovation. By providing a platform for emerging researchers and encouraging dialogue between disciplines and nations, the school once again reflected USERN’s core mission: to promote universal access to education, peace through science, and the development of a global research community.
