Immunotherapeutic strategies which are applied for many types of cancer are indebted to basic and clinical research in various fields such as medicine, immunology, molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, nanotechnology, as well as their combination in interdisciplinary studies. The Cancer Immunology Project (CIP) is a research interest group established within the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN) and aims at providing science without borders by connection of talent and interested juniors with leading scientists of the field.
Cancer as the second leading cause of death in the world is a serious threat to human life. During the centuries, different types of treatment have been investigated to benefit the patients suffering from cancer. Knowledge of the interaction between the immune system and tumor cells is being extended by performing research on cellular and molecular immunology. In order to find novel immunologic methods to fight cancer, deep understanding of the natural and pathologic processes of the immune system is required.
