OTAR activities can be divided into four main domains including: 1. Clinical orthopedics, 2. Regenerative medicine and translational medicine models, 3. Transdisciplinary research, 4. Registries. Each of these fields will be explained briefly in the following paragraphs.

Transdisciplinary research in orthopedics refers to collaborative scientific investigations that involve experts from multiple fields working together to address orthopedic challenges. These collaborations aim to combine diverse knowledge and methodologies to enhance our understanding of musculoskeletal health and develop innovative solutions. As musculoskeletal diseases and abnormalities are among the most common health issues, their treatment and management can always be challenging. The procedures and materials used in orthopedics have different properties, such as side effects, post-procedure rehabilitation, cost, difficulty of the procedure itself, and others, making optimizing them an open research topic.
