International Hematology/Oncology of Pediatrics Experts (IHOPE)
Objective
In this regard, we provide brain-storming meetings among the group members who are selected by their major interests and skills. We also provide virtual access for international members to be involved in brain-storming sessions, share their points of view and get the highlights of the meetings. In the sessions, we choose and discuss the hot topics about major advances in the diagnosis and treatment of hematologic malignancies, e.g. genetically modified immune cells, vaccines, antibody directed radioimmunotherapy and oncolytic viruses.
Definition
Hematology and Oncology is one of the most challenging fields in today’s medical researches. Hematologic/Oncologic disorders and esp. malignancies have a high burden of mortality and morbidity, since there is no definite cure in almost all of them and most treatment methods end up in partially remitted states which have a high risk of developing relapsed diseases. Hematologic malignancies are the most prevalent childhood malignancies and the applied treatment methods have yielded better outcomes in this age group.

Two different pamphlets about cancer nutrition in children were published. Pamphlet number 1 provides general information about nutritional sources in order to reinforce the immune system during cancer treatment. Pamphlet number 2 contains useful feeding techniques about how to tolerate and limit the side effects of chemotherapy.
