Biography
Dr. Antonio Abate is a Marie Curie Research Fellow at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and group leader in the Soft Matter Physics division of the Adolphe Merkle Institute, Switzerland. He obtained his PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 2011. He worked for 4 years as postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Since 2014 he is leading the photovoltaics research at the Adolphe Merkle Institute, where his research focus on hybrid organic-inorganic materials for optoelectronics such as perovskite based solar cells. In his group extensive experience on solution processing of hybrid organic-inorganic materials and their integration in optoelectronic devices is available. Antonio Abate co-authored 39 refereed full papers, 15 first and 5 corresponding authorships, which have garnered more than 1600 literature citations and an h-index of 17 (google scholar 11/2015). He is co-inventor in 8 international patents filed with 3 different research institutions.
