RESEARCH BACKGROUND AND FIELD OF INTERESTS


General


Mathematical modeling and analysis of mechanical behavior of engineering structures, especially shells, plates and beams made of fibrous composite and FGMs


Energy and variational principles and methods.


The employed mathematical methods are: Modification of exact method [1,3,10]


Generalized Differential quadrature rules, (GDQR). The results are published in [2,4,6,12]] Rayleigh Ritz method [2]


Semi-analytical Finite element method on cylindrical shells [5] Finite strip method on rectangular plates


 


Current Research Activities:


Thermo-mechanical analysis of functionally graded materials in plate and shell structures [6,12] Analysis of laminated composite plates and shells with actuators/sensors


Analysis of magnetorheological dampers for vibration control Nonlinear analysis


Construction of meta model/ surrogate model using GMDH type neural network [9]


Construction of meta model/ surrogate model using ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference system)


Optimum design using multi objective optimization based on genetic algorithm [11] Robust optimum design by minimizing the deviation in the mean value and the variance Probabilistic analysis in the presence of uncertain parameters




Employing other new mathematical approaches in plate and shell structures such as: Moving least square differential quadrature method


Extended Kantorovich approach Mesh free methods


Space state approach for solving PDEs Numerical inversion of Laplace transforms
