I am interested in understanding how ecological and evolutionary processes shape and are shaped by the patterns observed in ecological interactions. To this end, I integrate ecological data, mathematical modeling and analytical tools derived from the study of complex networks. I am currently a full professor at the Department of Ecology, Institute of Biosciences at USP. I was an associate researcher at the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of California, Santa Cruz, United States (2008-2009, 2012) and at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics at the Institute of Physics Gleb Wataghin from the State University of Campinas (2006-2008, 2009). I did a bachelor's degree and a degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (2000 and 2001), a Master's Degree in Ecology from the State University of Campinas (2003).
